Dr. David P. Barr

I’m originally from a small Wisconsin town called Bloomington – 700 people recorded in the last census. My father was a dentist–so hearing dental talk was common discussion over the dinner table. As a kid I hung around the office a lot too – so it wasn’t a big stretch to imagine being a dentist someday.
After finishing college at the U.W. Platteville I graduated from dental school at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1983 and found my way to Cedar Creek Dental in 1992. It didn’t take long to decide the Wausau area would be our home for a long, long time! My wife Laureen and I raised three great kids, Kristen, Kelson and Matthew. (But, there’s no retirement for Laureen — we keep her hopping as the clinic’s business manager.)
On the personal side, I’m a sports enthusiast who enjoys many hobbies. Number one hobby is dentistry – it’s as much a profession with me as a hobby. Other hobbies include coaching and playing basketball. (I have the height!) And I regularly play arm chair quarterback at just about every Packer game. Other favorite hobbies include camping, bicycling, boating and hanging out in our cabin up north. You might even hear me playing my guitar to a chorus of peeping frogs and chirping crickets.
